Klaus Klöker

Klaus Klöker, born in 1963, studied in Bremen from 1988 to 1993 and subsequently completed his legal traineeship in the Higher Regional Court district of Oldenburg. Prior to this, he trained as a banker from 1984 to 1987. After being admitted to the bar in 1997, Mr Klöker initially worked in a law firm in Oldenburg; from 2001 to mid-2020 he then worked in Bremen in a law firm specialising in insolvency law, since 2011 as a specialist lawyer for insolvency law.

Mr Klöker’s area of expertise is commercial law in restructuring, in particular insolvency and restructuring law for companies. He has many years of experience in advising medium-sized companies on averting insolvency. In addition, his core competences include advising managing directors and entrepreneurs during insolvency proceedings, in particular also the preparation and implementation of self-administration and protective shield proceedings as well as the preparation of insolvency plans.

A further focus of his work is out-of-court and in-court representation in the defence of avoidance claims under the Insolvency Code and the defence of directors’ liability claims.
